The RSA Broker Leader Programme 2018

In November last year, we mentioned that Dundee based Account Director, Nick Barr, had joined the new Broker Leader Programme launched by RSA, the mentoring scheme covering business skills such as strategy setting, business planning, change management, and communications.

The programme has now come to an end, and, after final presentations to a panel of RSA executives, Nick gave an insight into his experience there:

“The RSA programme in London was hard work but definitely worth it. I learned a lot of new things about myself including new techniques for managing people and their expectations. Hopefully this venture will have future benefit to the growth of GS Group.

Thank you to RSA, Andy Bounds and SearchLight for everything.”

The class of 2018 consisted of individuals from 10 different brokers, and the Chief Underwriting Officer, Global Risk Solutions at RSA, Finlay Smith, commented on the benefit of the programme for the brokers:

“It’s thrilling to celebrate in the success of these driven and talented people and to have witnessed their passion to succeed throughout this often challenging programme. I hope they find that the RSA Broker Leader Programme has helped them to hone their skills and to have been personally rewarding, as well as bringing real benefit to their brokerages.

“Attracting diverse, talented people into insurance and being able to offer them ongoing professional development is vital for the future of our industry. We’re committed to supporting our partners and not least our people to develop the skills and expertise they need to succeed and drive our industry forward for the benefit of our customers.”

The graduation ceremony was held at London’s Trinity House.
