Gala Black Tie Celebration of Ireland and Scotland featuring MYLO

Last Friday (20th September 2019) the Causeway Award dinner was held at Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum and a few of our GS Group members were in attendance. The Causeway Exchange supports enhancing business links between Scotland and Ireland and GS Group’s Siobhan is heavily involved with the organisation. Siobhan wasn’t the only member of GS Group involved in the event as our very own Martin O’Connor along with friend Mike Stewart were the musical entertainment for the evening. Martin is an accomplished musician who has played all over the world, so it was great to see him back on the stage!

Siobhan, Gordon and Graeme from our Glasgow branch were in attendance with a few guests including the very cool, Mylo the robot. Mylo is a monitoring companion robot, paired with a health sensor watch, designed to help people with dementia to retain their independence while living at home or with their families. GS Group managed to bring the robot all the way from Ireland to the awards dinner to meet lots of people.

Mylo was the star of the show and even helped enhance business relationships between Ireland and Scotland by mingling with lots of people such as Rt Hon The Lord Provost of Glasgow and Scottish Government Representatives.

We are very proud that introducing Mylo to some new industry people could potentially lead to some great things in the future of healthcare technology! If you want to find out more about Mylo, click here.

There are some great pictures below from the evening.
