Zurich Advice Matters: Appsolutely Fabulous

Financial Consultant, Mike Baxter, was recently part of a panel for Advice Matters, the magazine from Zurich where he discussed ‘App technology’ alongside other experts in their field:

As technology plays an ever greater role in our lives and work, Jennifer Hill talks to six tech-savvy advisers about the applications they can’t live without when it comes to running their businesses.

Mike discussed one of the platforms that GS Group currently uses called Dynamic Planner. “GS Group has recently switched from a paper-based attitude to risk process to a digital one. On the Dynamic Planner application, its five advisers can assess and record each client’s risk/capacity for loss. This creates a clear audit trail rather than notes and changes on a paper questionnaire. The system saves time too. The results don’t need to be scanned in and calculated; the client’s risk profile is available immediately and can be quickly emailed, downloaded and saved.”

In addition to Dynamic Planner, Mike also spoke about Selectapension. Founded in 2004 as a simple money purchase pension switching tool, it today boasts a comprehensive pension and investment planning system that provides detailed analysis reports comparing more than 200 products and funds from more than 60 providers. It can be used from the accrual to at-retirement stages of the planning cycle. “We’d previously been trawling provider factsheets to compare charges and performance,” says Mike. “Selectapension is easy to follow and can show clients clear reasons for our recommendations.”
