We’re absolutely delighted that our own Ryan Ruthven has been selected to appear in this years Broker Apprentice 2017, in association with Axa. Based in our Perth office as a Commercial Account Handler, Ryan was one of six finalists chosen from across the UK, with interviews having taken place in London, Manchester, Birmingham and remotely via Skype.

Insurance Age describes the process below:

“Taking part in a raft of filmed challenges, the chosen brokers will test themselves and their business acumen during both individual and team-based tasks, with plenty of opportunities for learning, not least from the career-enhancing feedback from Axa’s senior management.

The 2017 winner will receive a place on Axa’s highly regarded and CII accredited Broker Future seminar in 2018! Designed to nurture new broker talent, this year’s exclusive seminar is taking place over two days at a stunning chateau in France.

The winner will get access to top management consultants on this exclusive course, with the aim of arming up-and-coming brokers with the leadership tools needed to succeed in this fast-changing market.”

Speaking of the process, which consists of Apprentice-style tasks with an insurance slant, Ryan said the following:

“It’s been a brilliant experience so far, quite intense sometimes but brilliant exposure to situations I wouldn’t normally be involved in on a day-to-day basis.”
